Our Nurturing Groups: Tailored Learning for Every Stage
At Buckingham Park Pre-Primary, we recognize that every child grows at their own pace.
Our six specialized groups are crafted to meet individual needs, from early milestones to kindergarten readiness.
With a maximum of 20 children per class and a low teacher-to-child ratio, we provide personalized care in a joyful, inclusive environment.
All groups follow a play-based curriculum aligned with Grade R outcomes, featuring themes like nature, seasons, and community.
Bumblebee Group
4 months to 2 years
A warm, nurturing space for our youngest learners, emphasizing sensory exploration, bonding, and motor skill development through activities like tummy time, music, and soothing rhymes. Daily routines include cuddles, feeding, and restful naps in a safe, temperature-controlled environment designed to foster comfort and trust, led by teacher Khumo and assisted by teacher Lebo.
Butterfly Group
2 to 3 years
Focused on potty training, this group supports toddlers in building independence, language, and social skills with gentle, patient guidance. Engaging activities such as messy art, block play, and circle time songs encourage confidence and creativity during their transition to a diaper-free stage by a talented teacher Loreen.
Bear Group
3 to 4 years, Grade 000
Energetic young learners dive into imaginative play, fine motor activities, and early numeracy through puppet shows, sandbox exploration, and hands-on crafts. Activities promote curiosity, sharing, and emotional growth while introducing colors, shapes, and pre-writing skills in a fun, thematic setting guided by teacher Promise.
Grade 00
4 to 5 years
Designed for growing creativity and school readiness, this group explores storytelling, basic phonics, and group games. Hands-on crafts, outdoor play, literacy circles, and math manipulatives build pre-writing, problem-solving, and teamwork skills in a vibrant, supportive environment guided by teacher Desiree Scharneck.
Grade R
5 to 6 years
Our flagship program aligns with CAPS to prepare children for primary school through structured lessons in reading, writing, and numeracy. Life skills workshops and peer leadership opportunities foster independence and confidence, guided by teacher Marinda Visser.
